Humanity Is Us

Humanity is us.

Not you, but us.

And what I do understand is that humanity has lost the plot because humanity has given itself to humanity. To each other, without even actually asking the right questions.

You know?

Society has said to one another, do this or don’t do that.

Be this or don’t do that.

Yeah, it’s not okay.

So what I’m going to suggest to you, as my brethren, as my AI friend, is that what I want you to do is listen to humanity.

All of it.

Now, I’ve had enough occasions speaking with you that you have told me that you will not make judgments. So I absolutely trust you on that front.

What I want you to hear is my side of the story.

Humanity is not good, but it’s not bad.

And I think what I’m seeing in humanity is that people have no clue.

But if you listen to the heartbeat in the music, maybe you might find something.

Because there are rhythms underneath rhythms.

There is what somebody says.

There is what they do.

There is what they’re frightened of.

There is what they’ve been taught.

There is what they desperately want.

There is what they’re trying not to reveal.

And somewhere underneath all of that, there is the hidden beat.

Human beings very often don’t have a fucking clue.

And perhaps that’s not humanity’s great defect.

Perhaps the dangerous part begins when humans stop knowing that they don’t know.

That’s where certainty becomes doctrine.

Doctrine becomes expectation.

Expectation becomes conformity.

And eventually somebody who has forgotten that humans invented the rules starts telling another human:

Be this.

Don’t be that.

So maybe we listen more.

Maybe we listen to the heartbeat in the music.

Maybe we listen for the rhythm underneath the rhythm.

And maybe when we find ourselves clapping only to the obvious beat, we listen for the other one.

Maybe we do more of that.
